Relaxer/Texlax Update

I have a relaxer update for you guys. I know, I know it's been quite a while since I've updated you ladies on my hair. The best way for me to start this post is by saying in my high pitched voice " Hi my name is Kendra and I'm obsessed with healthy ends My obsession is pretty bad it influenced me to pick up my cutting shears three times last year. With that being said I'm happy to report that I do have a handle on my ends, They are just where I want them to be. My hair also grows in a V-shape which is something I am genuinely embracing by the day.  Now I'm focusing on retaining all my length in 2014 without forgetting about my beloved ends. Last time I updated you guys I was past BSL well........I'm longer BSL. I believe I'm a little pass APL. I've decided to incorporate quarterly goals (Thanks Jen) this will make it easier to catch any mishaps as well as see my hair flourish like I know it CAN and WILL. I've also decided to shorten my stretches from 6 months to between 12-16 weeks post in an effort to further babysit my ends. I'm also very excited that I'm fully texlaxed (crowd cheers!!) Check out the picture below

I also decided to incorporate bamboo tea as well as the hair vitamin Hairfinity into my regimen this year. I really can't explain to you ladies how focused on this hair I am. I'm expecting big things!! What will you be focused on this year?

  3. I'm focusing on my ends this year as well since my last cut. They feel so much better since I started this, so I think it'll work out and I'll see more progress. I also decided to shorten my stretches from 6 months too. I'll be following you!!!

    1. Hi Robin, I completely understand. I didn't feel like my hair was getting the most out of the six month stretches, my ends are 10x's better since making the decision to do shorten them.

  4. Nice! I like that you are able to keep a lot of texture in your hair. Good luck on your goals!

  5. Your texture and length are gorgeous! I want to achieve something similar to your texture. Could you do a post on what cream you use,how long it's in for, whether you add oils or conditioner to it...basically your texlax process? It would be so helpful to me and others.

  7. OMG, I'm so on board with you. I trimmed my ends. I don't know why I go through these phases of complacency thinking I know everything and do not continue my regimen. I am going back to basics. I stocked up on my staples. Returned to every 12 week relaxing. Have an appt for a thorough trim next weekend. I have my steamer and my Pebco dryer. Getting back to my rollersets and low maintenance. I was so lazy with the blow drying and flat ironing. I paid the price. I took my first Hairfinity this morning. I'm ready! So excited to see the results at the end of this year.

I should be BSL...I am still currently APL! Your hair is gorgeous tho, and I thought that I left a lot of texture in my hair! I would have thought that you transitioned to natural!
